Emmy Rossum’s SAG Awards Dress:
Emmy Rossum totally took us by surprise at the SAG Awards in her Armani Privé Spring 2014 dress. She usually sticks to more classic styles, but she looked like she was straight out of a fairytale in this jaw-dropping gown, embroidered with Swarovski crystals! If this is what the rest of 2015 has in store for Emmy, we are so ready.

Kate Hudson was another head-turner in the front row of the Altelier Versace Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2015 show in Paris. She wore a sexy red cocktail dress from the designer and this is just about as hot as it gets! The sexy cutouts showed off her fit frame and made us love her even more.

Lastly, Sara Hyland’s custom Vera Wang dress definitely deserves some notice. It looks like it was made for her, (because it was), and the beautiful embellished bodice and tulle skirt will forever be etched into our memories. Perfect!

We could go on and on, but we’ll let you handle the rest. Check out the looks in the gallery and VOTE on the best dressed celeb of the week.!

Balmain's Olivier Rousteing: 'Rihanna could turn me straight'

Olivier Rousteing has turned up the heat at the venerable Paris fashion house Balmain, powered by the celebrity glow of his friends Rihanna and Kim Kardashian

In the pantheon of hot, gay, photogenic fashion designers - and it is quite a pantheon - Olivier Rousteing reigns supreme. Aged 28, the creative director of Balmain has cheekbones like geometry and perfect skin, to quote the singer Lloyd Cole, whose 1984 hit was released a whole two years before Rousteing was born. Why are we flagging up his looks? The short answer is, Instagram. The longer answer is, social media and its increasing importance to the fashion industry as a marketing tool. If Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney are the best advertisements for their own brands, then Olivier Rousteing is the best arm candy for the sort of women who wear him. Every celebrity needs a gorgeous GBF.

  1. Happily for Rousteing, and Balmain, the sort of women who
  2. wear him are extremely famous. It is a specific sort of fame,
  3. the ultra-modern sort that is more commonly measured by
  4. numbers than by something as prosaic as one's canon of work. Pulitzer Prize? Well done, but how many Instagram followers do you have? Rousteing has 928,000, a respectable amount, though small fry when compared with Rihanna's 14.3 million. Although even Rihanna is dwarfed by Kim Kardashian, who has 24.7 million followers and counting. These numbers are important because, as Rousteing says, "When you look at the fashion brands, how many followers do they have? Balmain has 1.1 million. It's like 10 per cent of what those girls have. It shows you the power of the personality more than the power of the entire brand." If you totted up the total number of followers boasted by Rousteing's celebrity friends - the models, the musicians, the reality-TV stars - you would be in the realm of tens of millions, all potentially wearing #Balmain in one photo or another, handily tagged for easy reference.

In the light of these facts it is not even worth asking whether celebrity endorsement is essential to maintaining the success of a fashion house. Fashion has always courted celebrity, but today's business model is more complex. You can't just send someone a free handbag; far better to entwine yourself in their life, so the relationship is ongoing (and, therefore, regularly Instagrammed). "Celebrity is more important today than it used to be," Rousteing agrees. If celebrity is the driver, Instagram is the conduit. "It gives access to so many different people. For me it's the new high-street window. You can actually be part of the dream. It's not only available to 10 people on the front row - it's a way of communication that's inclusive, and there's something generous about that." He is also astute enough to recognise its particular advantage for a house like the privately-owned Balmain, which, though successful (posting sales of €30.4  million in 2012 and a profit of €3.1 million) is still relatively modest when compared with, say, Louis Vuitton, which has sales of about €8.4  billion. The luxury-goods market may once have been controlled by those brands with the biggest advertising budgets, but not any more. "You don't need to be the richest house or have the biggest campaign. You now have access to everyone, and a different way to show the world your clothes."

Rousteing was raised in Bordeaux ("One of the most conservative cities in France"), by adoptive white parents who wanted him to study international law - which he did for two months until, "I realised I was looking at the boys in my class more than I was looking at my books." On a whim he moved to Rome, interning for a small label before securing a job with Roberto Cavalli at the age of 18. "I realised late that your passion can become your job," he says sincerely, blissfully unaware that 18 is precociously early. While his tastes for high-octane glamour were piqued at Cavalli, they were honed at Balmain, where from 2009 he was the right-hand man to its head designer, Christophe Decarnin. The latter's resignation, amid rumours of ill health, led to Rousteing taking over the helm in 2011, when he was 25. "What I love about Balmain, even more than the style, is that they gave me this chance to express myself at such a young age, and trusted me, despite my colour, my age and my point of view that is sometimes a bit controversial," he says.

It is true that Balmain is a controversial and divisive label. Even if you possess the requisite body (toned, honed, relaxed about exposing vast acres of flesh), you may not possess the requisite bank balance. However cheap its critics may berate the clothes for looking, Balmain itself sure isn't cheap: the simplest white cotton T-shirt costs £200, while a leather miniskirt 'laden with brass-trimmed bone beads and fringing' is £3,975. More embellished pieces can soar well into five figures. That Balmain has doubled its profits every year since Rousteing took over proves that the 'super-luxe sex goddess' is a compelling proposition for an increasing number of women. Its ruthlessly sexy aesthetic might suggest otherwise but Rousteing insists Balmain should work for any woman, regardless of her body shape or age. "Fashion had started to forget women in a way, and concentrate too much on the clothes. For me it made no sense," he says. "In fashion the biggest moment was when the models were celebrities - we all remember Naomi, Claudia, Carla, Linda. The woman had to come back; the curved woman, and different kinds of body shapes. I don't like skinny girls. I want to represent a real woman, not just a shadow or a ghost."

Certainly the new Balmain collection wouldn't be done justice by a shadow-woman; for maximum impact, curves are required. It was inspired by Free the Nipple, the equality movement whose high-profile supporters include Lena Dunham and Cara Delevingne. Less embellished than previous collections, the clothes can be worn in several ways, revealing or concealing as much flesh as the wearer wishes. "Do they let the nipple free? How are they going to hide it? I'm really curious to see how the fashion press is going to style the clothes," Rousteing says. In April 2014 Rihanna's Instagram account was suspended after she violated the Facebook-owned company's policies on nudity by posting a magazine cover of herself topless. "Sometimes the censorship of Instagram is too drastic," Rousteing says. "There's a lot of hypocrisy in the world, and above all in the fashion world."

He once said that Rihanna could turn him straight. "There's no doubt about it," he laughs. "She has this aura, this charisma. It's not only sexual. It's something else. She is like a new Grace Kelly, or a Madonna… This woman of the world who represents a new world." Is he in love at the moment? "No, if you mean, 'Do I have someone in my life?' No, I don't. Just work and Rihanna." He pauses. "But that's enough. That's a lot!"

Rousteing thinks Balmain's founder would have approved of Rihanna too . "I keep Pierre Balmain in my mind because he loved strong women, women who have something to say. All the French designers - Balmain, Poiret, Dior, Balenciaga - they believed in strong women. Their mothers were really important. In France fashion has always been connected to the role of the woman. I keep in my mind the rules of French fashion."
Pierre Balmain was established in 1946; that a storied French couture house hired a black man as its creative director is particularly significant given the parlous state of race relations in France. Rousteing mentions a friend, a black model who is hesitant about trying to get work in Paris because she claims if there are two new black models on the scene, she knows she will be surplus to requirements. "Honestly, you still count how many colours of people you have in the show?" he rails. "It's just sad. There is no other word. It's fashion getting old. Just two black girls? In the whole city? I don't think it would be the same with blond girls."

As a mixed-race black man - one of a mere handful of black designers working at a high level in fashion today - he is acutely aware of the covert (and overt) racism that still flourishes within the industry. Unlike most, a Balmain show will always have more than one token black model. "The mixety [sic] of my castings is one of the most important things about the show," Rousteing says. "Sometimes I feel like some designers just focus on the clothes. Obviously it's a business, but when you do a show you want to be modern - it's not only about trying to find the fabric that no one else uses. Being modern means having a view or a vision of what the world is today. I want to show a vision of my world, what I see and what I want to see in the future." That we are speaking shortly after the Charlie Hebdo atrocities makes these issues seem particularly acute. "A week ago Paris was completely dark in many ways. It was really sad, kind of like losing hope."
A look from the Balmain SS15 collection. PHOTO: Rex

Before the Charlie Hebdo massacre did Paris feel like a happy city, or a city divided between rich and poor, black and white? "Paris is a mixed city. Everybody's different, and from every part of the world. Some people have a vision of Paris from the outside that is quite different from what it is. Paris the city of light, French culture, tradition… But Paris is really modern too. It's a mix of so many different races; really international. But at the same time, sometimes Paris is too traditional. I think what happened is showing a different way of seeing Paris, and it's making people closer to each other -all the Muslims, black people, white, Asian, we are together fighting for the cause.
"Some Muslims in Paris are scared to be judged for this event," he continues. "But it's not their fault. We need to be careful that we don't associate what happened with the wrong things. I hope the country won't go to extremes. We have a Front National…" he tails off. "I'm really scared of [the] racism too. Freedom is the most important thing. Freedom in every way. All the good art is political. It can be really controversial but what is important today is that we don't mix up what happened with black religion. We can't misunderstand."

Yes, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Really Hung Out With President Obama

Kim Kardashian's latest flashback picture practically has the presidential seal of approval. That's because President Barack Obama not only posed for the snap with the reality star and Kanye West, but also signed it. "To Kanye & Kim — Thanks for the support and best wishes to your [and] your lovely daughter! Barack Obama," the short note reads. Meanwhile, Kim had even less to say: "#FBF POTUS," she captioned the Instagram. Although details are scarce, the picture is believed to have been taken when the trio got together in October. Kanye confirmed the gathering on Twitter in November, writing, "Me and my wife met with President Obama two weeks ago."
The smiley meeting seems to have signaled a fresh start for the couple and the commander-in-chief. President Obama has referred to Kanye as a "jackass" on two occasions, a topic Kanye addressed during a radio interview in 2013. "People was fine with me being everyone's punching bag for about five years," he said. "'This is the person we love to hate, so if you want to distract people from everything that's going on, just say you hate Kanye, and there's going be 30 other people who say they hate Kanye.' That was kind of my position in culture and he kind of used that too — 'Oh, he's a jackass,' because that's how the world felt." Kanye later compared Kim to first lady Michelle Obama during a chat with Ryan Seacrest, saying, "She's like the most intriguing woman right now. She's got Barbara Walters calling her like every day . . . and collectively we're the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [President] Obama is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day."

Chanel says it with flowers at Paris Fashion Week

A host of celebrities including actresses Vanessa Paradis and Kirsten Stewart turned up for Paris Fashion Week’s must-see Chanel show at the Grand Palais.

Guests walked into a garden of giant origami tropical flowers in a typically extravagant show infused with Karl Lagerfeld’s signature touch of humour as gardeners watered the plants helping them bloom into colour.

The outfits were youthful, floral and fresh, in eye-popping shades of fuschia, electric blue, tangerine and canary yellow.

In all, it took six months to create the hundreds of flowers used in the collection, with the train of the show-stopping wedding dress alone requiring the work of 15 couturiers a month.

“Most of the time Chanel is black and white, beige and pastel colors. So suddenly, I felt the need for some bright colors. It’s in the air, you know, fashion is like this, you don’t know why, you only know how,” said Karl Lagerfeld.

The Armani Prive 2015 spring-summer collection had a resolutely Oriental twist and was appropriately held at the Palais de Tokyo museum in the French capital.

Giorgio Armani’s 68-piece collection featured prints in delicate structures, with models draped in silk and beaded materials walking down a bamboo-lined catwalk. Glittering nude fabrics offset the Chinese sashes and bamboo motifs.

The zen atmosphere carried through the evening wear, with darker pieces still playing the Oriental card with an added touch of sparkle.

Silk and lace adorned the bodies and bikinis which took to the runway at La Perla’s Atelier Collection runway show.

The unmistakable message here was the activewear influence in a collection featuring a series of neoprene all-in-ones.

Organza and tulle underwear was worn as outerwear, and boudoir robes with exposed back panels doubled as warm-up jackets.

Former top model Naomi Campbell rounded off the show in a backless silk and lace hooded robe, with matching wide-leg pants worn over a tulle bra and briefs.

Vanessa & Kristen for Chanel

The big show at Paris Fashion Week today was Chanel. Check out Karl with his long-time muse, Vanessa Paradis, and his current muse, Kristen Stewart, following the presentation of the new haute couture collection. The event however was polluted by the presence of a member of the Kanye West’s wife’s family. The mother was there too, ostensibly supporting her daughter on the runway but, basically, promoting herself.

However, I’ve yet to see any shots of that woman with Karl or with Paradis and Stewart. If you do, let me know. But if those don’t turn up, wouldn’t you love to have been the person whose job it was to make sure that DIDN’T happen? To make sure that photographers would, under no circumstances, request for that combination of celebrity? Or maybe the request does happen, and Vanessa Paradis, who has no f-cking problem telling you her mind, shuts it down, in that beautiful way that the French shut things down. I would masturbate to that scene.

As for the clothes…

It’s a longer hemline, non? And some crop-waist with a little drop-waist as an alternative.

Kendall Jenner Goes Braless, Models Sheer Top for Chanel's Paris Fashion Week Show—See the Pic!

Ooh la la, Kendall Jenner!
The 19-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star showed some serious skin Tuesday modeling in Chanel's Paris Fashion Week Show. She even went braless beneath her sheer, midriff-baring black top, showing off her taut tummy and yes, even a tasteful hint of boob!
Kendall's daring blouse was paired with an elegantm A-line floral skirt and sexy boots, and as you can see, she looked right at ease modeling the Karl Lagerfeld creations! That comes from her confidence as a model as well as her familiarity with the fashion royal.
PHOTOS: Kendall Jenner's latest Vogue spread
Back in November, the German designer announced Kendall would appear in his spring 2015 campaign. She's also worked the runway wearing his work during New York Fashion Week.
Momager Kris Jenner was in the front row showing her support for Kendall Monday, but the budding supermodel doesn't want all her shows to turn into a family affair.
In fact, back in November, Kendall told The Cut that while Kim Kardashian is often "invited to a lot of the shows" she's modeling in, she doesn't necessarily want her there. "She called me before and was like, 'Hey I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?' and I was like, 'No.'"
VIDEO: Check out Kendall Jenner rocking Chanel last year
"I want to be high fashion. I want to be taken seriously. People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn't. What I have has almost worked against me," she explained.
But as Kim told The Cut, Kendall "had to work extra hard to gain this respect and to fight for people to see she's serious." Clearly, fashions It Girl has done just that, because she keeps lining up the jobs!

Angelina Jolie Visits Kurdish Refugee Camp in Iraq

Angelina Jolie holds out her hands to greet people while visiting a camp for displaced Iraqis on Sunday (January 25) in Khanke, Iraq.

The 39-year-old actress took a tour               of the area before giving a speech,                   which you can watch below.
“Since I was last here in Iraq, another two million people have been forced from their homes. Mostly in the last six months – this time Iraqi citizens,” Angie said. “Too many innocent people are paying the price of the conflict in Syria and spread of extremism. The international community has to step up and do more.”

She continued, “It is not enough to defend our values at home. We have to defend them here, in the camps and in the informal settlements across the Middle East, and in the ruined towns of Iraq and Syria. We are being tested here, as an international community, and so far – for all the immense efforts and good intentions – we are failing.”

Girls just want to have fun! Taylor Swift and the Haim sisters strike a pose in their bikinis on a tropical getaway to Hawaii

ready, get set, say cheese!
Being Taylor Swift's friend comes with two rules - be prepared to travel at a moment's notice and be ready to pose for Instagram pictures while doing so.
The Haim sisters - Este, Danielle and Alana - are certainly realising this the fun way after joining the pop star on holiday in Hawaii on Friday.
'Ello sailor! Make waves in a nautical stripe bikini
Topshop high waist bikini
Sold out - shop the look below

If there's one thing that Taylor Swift loves, it's a gal pal.
And it seems Taylor has scored a bit of hat-trick by befriending girl band of the moment Haim. Sorry Selena, Taylor's got bigger fish to fry now...
And while Taylor and BFF's Haim shared pictures of themselves on a super swanky yacht in Hawaii, it wasn't a complete show of the A list lifestyle, as Alana Haim frolicked about in a stripe swimsuit by Topshop. The very same bikini Taylor wore on holiday last year! They're certainly girls after our own hearts.
Predictably Alana's bikini has flown off the shelves and is now sold out, but there's no need to panic as there's a plethora of other stripey bikinis starting to touch down on the high street right now.
Get Alana's vintage look with Asos's high waist style, add curves with Topshop's frill trim option, or blow the budget with Zimmerman's designer number. Time to book that holiday!
The musical pack - the sisters form band Haim - were indulging in some girly vacation time on the high seas after jetting off to the tropical state.
The 25-year-old and the Los Angeles alt band have become fast friends since playing the Jingle Ball together over the holidays.
Making sure to keep all their fans in the loop, the Shake It Off star posted plenty of pictures of her and her friends cavorting in their bikinis while on the hunt for whales.

Kicking off her newest social media pictorial, Taylor posted a snap of her and the girl band standing aboard their yacht with the blue waters of Maui behind them.
Looking like a swimsuit advert, each of the musicians wore a different type of bikini.
Taylor started off her day in a pink and citrus striped halter bra bikini complete with frills.
In contrast, Alana wore a retro-inspired black and white high waisted two piece while sister Este wore a floral swimsuit and Danielle went for a classic bandeau black bikini.
While first the ladies soaked in some sun aboard their yacht they did not just laze around all day, as Taylor's next holiday snapped showed.
The foursome headed to shore to work up an appetite before lunch by going for a hike.
Posing next to a rocky stream, the pop star captioned the image: 'Hiking with the Squad in Hawaii.'
Enjoying being on land, the ladies then went for a dip off the beach - which also say Taylor make her second swimsuit change of the day.
Taking inspiration for Alana's retro look, the Blank Space singer donned a black with white spot 1950s one piece.
Clearly loving her pin up look, Taylor posed up on the sand while enlisting on of the other girls to take pictures of her.
Not afraid to have a little laugh at herself, the singer captioned the image with a reference to a Saturday Night Live skit about her, saying 'She's always wearing, like, a 1950's bathing suit'.
But the group was not done there, as their afternoon was spent whale watching - much to Taylor's delight.

The 25-year-old made a video of one whale that came close to their boat.
Trying to alert the other girls, the star can be heard yelling in the background.
'Whale, Whale. Look at it! Yes, whale.'
Taylor's little trip away comes on the same day it was revealed that she will be making a big trip soon - to England.
The singer will be performing at the annual BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend music festival held this year on May 23 and 24 in Norwich.
